Nola Watson

Head of Government and International Relations,
Insurance Australia Group

Nola Watson is the Head of Government and International Relations for Insurance Australia Group (IAG). She manages the Group's interactions with governments, industry leaders and non government organizations. She co-ordinates policy issues and formal submissions in areas of prudential regulation, corporate governance, sustainability and trade liberalization.

Nola was previously Head of Corporate Risk Services in IAG with responsibility for operational risk management. She was also the Crisis Director for the Group's global operations.

Prior to IAG, Nola worked in Senior Executive positions within Commonwealth and New South Wales governments, primarily in Attorney-General's and law enforcement portfolios. She was part of the executive leadership team for the Sydney 2000 Olympics. She previously served in a diplomatic position in Washington DC.

Nola is currently a Director of the NRMA & IAG Superannuation Board, a Director of the Australian Services Roundtable, a Director of Business for Millennium Development and a Member of the Advisory Panel of Australia Network (ABC Asia Pacific television).

She holds degrees from Sydney University and Australian National University in Canberra. She has business qualifications from INSEAD France and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

In 2001, Nola was named a Telstra Australian Businesswoman of the Year and in 2002 was awarded the Commonwealth of Australia Centenary Medal for services to Australian society in business leadership. She recently participated as an invited delegate to the Prime Minister's 2020 Summit.
